Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Wijaya Karya Gedung Gedung Tbk (WEGE) and the Medan City Government carried out Ground Breaking Rehabilitation and Renovation of Medan's Teladan Stadium.
Operations Director I Bagus Tri Setyana said that work on the rehabilitation and renovation of Medan's Teladan Stadium is currently being prepared, since the contract was signed at the end of last December. The contract for this project is recorded at IDR 275 billion with an estimated time of 370 days.
“Currently the work is in the preparation stage, because we have to complete administration and coordinate with related parties, the scope of our work such as Structure, Architecture and MEP. We are also committed to maintaining quality and always achieving 4Z (Zero Accident, Zero Defect, Zero Complaint and Zero Findings),” said Bagus in an official statement, Wednesday (7/2/2024).
Meanwhile, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution emphasized to all related parties that in this project, it is not only important to complete the physical work. However, what is equally important is ensuring that the Exemplary Stadium will be well maintained in the future.
“Construction quality and sustainable maintenance must be our main priority. I expect every implementer to take full responsibility in ensuring the sustainability of the Teladan Stadium for the welfare and shared pride of Medan residents,” said Bobby.
Besides that, Recently, WEGE also officially started construction of the Jakarta and Bali BMKG Disaster Early Warning System Building, which is a collaboration with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
For these two projects, the signing of the Work Contract for work on developing the Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System (inaTEWS) operational system for the Jakarta and Bali buildings.
Ground Braking in Jakarta at the end of January which was welcomed by both parties. The Inatews Jakarta operational system development building consists of 2 basements and 9 floors and the building area reaches 8,679.88 square meters.
The technology applied in the building uses the first pendulum type Base Isolation in Indonesia, because if an earthquake occurs, the mega trust building will still stand strong.
Bagus is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with BMKG and hopes that this project will go according to plan.
“We can start this construction immediately so that it is completed on time. Because it is our commitment to be on time, have the right quality and must comply with compliance and good governance. We also ask for support from all parties during the project,” explained Bagus. .
Meanwhile, Head of BMKG, Dwikorita Karnawati, said that the development of this system was to catch up with Indonesian technology, especially disaster early warning system technology.
“As we know, technology in Japan is very advanced, even after we studied technology in Indonesia, especially for early warning in disasters, whether tsunamis or earthquakes, it is 20 years behind Japan. Meanwhile, we are at the forefront in providing warnings to approximately 20 countries in “Southeast Asia and its surroundings. For this reason, the development of this disaster early warning system must be established immediately,” said Dwikorita
He emphasized that inaTEWS Jakarta and Bali will later become BMKG's command center. “So this building must be strong to be able to provide information regarding earthquakes and tsunamis,” stressed Dwikorita.
Dwikorita explained that this building is a command center facility to be able to disseminate meteorological, climatological and geophysical information, including early warning.
Operationally, this shows Indonesia's consistency in providing information and data services that are not only intended for the national level but also for the world level, where this backup command center will ensure that BMKG service performance continues to run 24 hours without stopping.
The building specifications that WEGE will build in Bali consist of 1 basement and four floors with a total building area of 2,700.92 square meters. The technology or system used for buildings in Bali uses Lead Rubber Bearing (LRB) type Base Isolation.
WEGE received work covering Preparation, Structure, Architectural, Mechanical, Electronic and Plumbing in a processing time of approximately 365 working days for both buildings in Jakarta and Bali. The command center building construction activity was funded by World Bank funding in two locations, namely at the BMKG Central office in Jakarta and also at the Regional III Central Office in Bali.
