Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Year of the Dragon could be a lucky year, but only if we are kind to each other

“In the long term, this could also be a year where major conflicts can be resolved, if society can focus on empathy,” he said, quoted from NBCFriday (9/2/2024).
Chinese New Year — which includes Lunar New Year, Seollal in Korea, Tet in Vietnam, and more — will begin on February 10, kicking off more than two weeks of celebrations, customs, and lots of parties. It celebrates the arrival of spring and the start of the new year based on the Chinese lunisolar calendar.
Dragons are perhaps the most popular creatures, associated with a number of positive qualities such as nobility, wealth and wisdom.
The sign of the dragon this year, more specifically, is the wood dragon. The wood element is seen in Daoist tradition as a return to a natural state, which in the case of the dragon, points to the return of goodness and Confucian thought interprets wood as a symbol of unlimited potential.
“I see the year of the Wood Dragon as a year with unlimited potential for prosperity,” he said. “If we continue tribal thinking and selfish thinking, we will not achieve it.”
With ongoing wars around the world and a political year around the world, it is important to approach controversial discussions in good faith.
“Being kind, kind, loving, and compassionate will bring you abundance,” explains Lee.
The Years of the Dragon, which fall in 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024, have long been associated with highly valued traits.
Those born in the year of the dragon are often said to be generous, can be great leaders, and have a lot of charisma. In fact, many parents plan births around the year of the dragon.
Additionally, the wood element, like its practical use, is an additional reminder to set a good foundation that will lead to long-term success, not short-term gains, Lee said.
However, not everyone will experience the year of the dragon in the same way, Lee added. Those whose zodiac signs are considered compatible with the dragon, such as the rabbit, snake, rooster, and rat, can look forward to a very prosperous year.
However, those born in the year of the dragon will experience what is known in Chinese culture as a “year of destiny,” which is considered a rather difficult and challenging year.
