Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A total solar eclipse is a rare phenomenon. It is not surprising that many people seek this event to experience the magical atmosphere when the sun's light is completely blocked by the moon.
As is known, a total solar eclipse just occurred in the United States on April 8, 2024. Millions of eyes in 15 US states, and parts of Mexico and Canada witnessed when daylight felt like night.
This unique and rare phenomenon certainly does not occur exclusively in the US. Scientists have predicted that the phenomenon of solar eclipses will occur in other parts of the world in the future, including in Indonesia.
Quoted from cnn.com, scientists predict that the closest eclipse will occur in Chile and Argentina on October 2 2024. The eclipse in the two Latin American countries is predicted to be a partial solar eclipse. This phenomenon is no less beautiful, because it will give a 'ring of fire' effect.
The principal scientist at the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder Colorado, Amir Caspi estimates that the next total solar eclipse will not occur until August 12, 2026. The eclipse will cross Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia and a small part of Portugal. At the same time, parts of Europe, Africa and North America will witness a partial eclipse.
Earth's citizens can again witness a total solar eclipse on August 2 2027. This time, the solar eclipse will pass over the Egyptian pyramids with a relatively long duration, namely more than 6 minutes.

-July 13, 2037: Australia and New Zealand
-26 December 2038: Australia and New Zealand
-30 April 2041: Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia
-20 April 2042: Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines
-April 9, 2043: Russia.
