Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – AThere are many criteria set by parents before choosing a school for their children, one of which is the curriculum used during the learning process.
One type of curriculum that is popular as a choice for parents is the Cambridge Curriculum. Specifically for Early Childhood Education (PAUD), the Cambridge Curriculum available is Cambridge Early Years.
Quoting from the official Cambridge International Education website, Cambridge Early Years is a special curriculum program for children aged three to six years which aims to develop children inside and outside school.
“This is a play-based program that is child-centred and helps them to develop at their own pace. This encourages them to act independently, make their own choices and discover a sense of self-worth,” wrote Cambridge International Education, quoted on Wednesday (7/2/ 2024).
Playhouse Academy Jakarta is the first independent Kindergarten (TK) in Indonesia to achieve official accreditation from Cambridge International Education to implement the Cambridge Early Years curriculum.
Co-founder and Principal of Playhouse Academy, Dr. Astrid HW-Levi, revealed that the implementation of the Cambridge Early Years curriculum in her school aims to prepare children to be able and ready to compete when they want to continue their education to a higher level.

“The Cambridge Early Years curriculum is very holistic, there are times where they (the students) sit down, create workbooksplaying time, and doing other activities,” said Astrid at the Playhouse Academy, Palma Tower Jakarta, Wednesday (7/2/2024).
Regarding the implementation of Cambridge Early Years, Astrid said to CNBC Indonesia that this school, which was founded in March 2020, has collaborated with a number of international elementary schools (SD) that implement the Cambridge curriculum in the South Jakarta area.
Child Development Center Services
Apart from being the first independent kindergarten in the country to implement the Cambridge Early Years curriculum, Astrid also said that one of the facilities that differentiates Playhouse Academy from other international kindergartens is the Child Development Center service.
Astrid said, the Playhouse Child Development Center is a service center with child psychologists to help teachers, parents and children with neurodivergent or a different way of working the brain For adapting children's individual learning needs, providing inclusive education and early intervention.
How much does it cost?
Regarding education costs, Astrid revealed that the price for studying at the Playhouse Academy starts from IDR 60 million.
“Education fees start from IDR 60 million, this includes the starting fee, field trip, parents communication application, Cambridge Check Together Examination, and school fees,” said Astrid.
For information, Playhouse Academy provides four class levels, namely Toddler for children aged two to three years, Nursery for children aged three to four years, K1 for children aged four to five years, and K2 for children aged five to six years.
