Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Where there is a will, there must be a way, this principle is adhered to by Safitriani, a resident of Bancak Village, Pati Regency, Central Java (Central Java) Province. For him, if we are truly determined and give our best, we can overcome all obstacles and make our dreams come true.
Even though taking care of the household is something that makes her happy, she still wants to be more than “just a housewife.” This mother of two children wants to make money to support her family's needs.
“This is what encouraged me to sell free-range chickens,” said Safitriani during a telephone conversation.
The idea to start a business buying and selling free-range chickens emerged while chatting with neighbors at a vegetable stall. Traders often have difficulty getting free-range chickens, as a result many buyers don't shop.
On the one hand, Safitriani has acquaintances who breed free-range chickens in remote areas, but does not have access to sell them in the city. Seeing these two problems, he thought of a bridge by buying free-range chicken from the area and supplying it to stalls.
“From there at first, then I started supplying free-range chicken to stalls,” he added.
However, his journey as a chicken seller is not easy. He admitted that he had problems with funding. At first she tried to set aside little by little the money her husband gave her as business capital. However, business capital ran out because they had to meet kitchen needs.
Long story short, Safitriani came to the BRILink agent around her house. He told about the problems he faced. Then he was offered a Fast Credit (KECE) loan product from BRI.
The ultra-micro credit or loan product called KECE (Fast Credit) has a ceiling of up to IDR 10 million. This loan can be accessed by the public through AgenBRILink which is a partner of UMi.
“The requirements are easy, just e-KTP. The process is also quite easy and the disbursement is fast, it only took me 4 working days to disburse it straight away,” said Safitriani.
Safitriani revealed that initially he received a loan of IDR 2 million. These funds are used as capital for the business of buying and selling free-range chickens. Meanwhile, in one month, he can collect a turnover of around IDR 3 million.
“I borrowed Rp. 2 million yesterday and I have paid it off, now I'm borrowing another Rp. 5 million because I want to celebrate Eid, so the demand for chicken has also increased,” he said.
Safitriani admitted that he was greatly helped by the KECE loan program. Because, thanks to this program, she is not only dependent on her husband's uncertain income. “This KECE loan really helps me to develop my business. Moreover, I still have two children who are still in school and need to be supported,” he said.
Finally, he expressed his thanks for the program. He hopes that this program will continue.
BRI Micro Business Director Supari said that the company will continue to encourage the empowerment of the Ultra Micro segment as an effort to optimally accelerate the Indonesian economy.
“Opening access to financing for UMi businesses will provide good flexibility and adaptability for business development. In addition, bringing the reach of financial inclusion closer to this group can open up wider space for business growth so that saving capacity has also increased,” added Supari.
