Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are an important pillar of Indonesia's economic development so they must continue to be encouraged so that they can move up in class and increase their contribution to the nation's economy.
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) as the largest bank in distributing financing to MSMEs continues to support and provide opportunities for MSME players to enter the global market. This is also based on the quality of the production and work of the nation's children that can compete with products from other countries.
This time, BRI sent 8 Indonesian MSMEs to Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) Food & Beverage 2024, which is the largest and most prominent international food and beverage trade exhibition in Asia. The event will be held for 4 days on 23-26 April 2024 at the Singapore Expo, which will be attended by more than 50 countries.
The eight BRI MSMEs taking part in the 2024 FHA Food & Beverage exhibition are Ndalem Chocolate, Matoh Food, Maccheese, Granoku, AwiS Food, Cinta Tempe Chips, Ppuff!, and Havilla Tea. Products produced by MSMEs include chocolate, cassava chips, tempeh chips, tea, healthy snacks, etc.
These MSME players are selected MSMEs and of course have superior quality products, international standards, and are ready to compete in the global market. Apart from that, these MSMEs have also participated in several empowerment programs from BRI such as Rumah BUMN, Brilliant Young Entrepreneur, and Brilianpreneur.
Director Commercial, Small & Medium Business BRI, Amam Sukriyanto, said that the participation of MSMEs is a manifestation of BRI to always consistently support MSMEs Go Global to foreign countries in order to provide added value and be able to compete on the international stage.
''MSMEs must get lots of opportunities to be able to export and enter international markets because they are currently the backbone of the Indonesian economy. This exhibition will certainly be events which is very beneficial for BRI-assisted MSMEs to be able to introduce industrial potential Food & Beverages Indonesia to foreign countries,” said Amam in a written statement quoted on Sunday (26/5/2024).
On the other hand, Erwin as founder and CEO of Ppuff!, one of the participants in the 2024 FHA Food & Beverage Exhibition, expressed his appreciation to BRI for always supporting MSME players at international exhibitions which in turn can encourage the marketing of MSME products overseas. Ppuff! Itself is a healthy snack producer from Bandung, West Java which is the 3rd winner of the 2022 Brilliant Young Entrepreneur Program.
“BRI always supports Ppuff! snacks in improving exposure both at home and abroad. So this time we had the opportunity to participate as an Indonesian delegate at Food & Hotel Asia in Singapore and thanks to this assistance we saw many opportunities that could be developed for export to neighboring countries,” added Amam.
For additional information, at the 2024 FHA Food & Beverage Exhibition, BRI MSMEs occupy the Indonesian Pavilion and this is a collaboration between BRI and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Singapore.
Due to the participation of these 8 MSMEs in FHA Food 2024 during the 4 days of the event there were 87 potential buyers originating from China, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, etc. with a potential deal of USD 175,000. FHA-Food & Beverage 2024 is expected to be platforms global for business actors in Indonesia.
