Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – There are still around 7 months remaining in the Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Ma'aruf Amin Cabinet. Before the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair took the lead, it turned out that the Ministry of Communication and Information still had a lot of homework.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Nezar Patria admitted that his ministry still has a lot of homework to do, one of which is related to completing the construction of telecommunications infrastructure. Including the construction of the remaining 4G BTS. Apart from that, it also ensures that connectivity is well maintained.
A number of regulations are also being drafted at the Ministry of Communication and Information, starting from the derivative of the Personal Data Protection Law which will take the form of a Government Regulation.
“Our PDP Law is regulating the PP, the government regulations,” said Nezar, met at Kominfo, Friday (22/8/2024).
Apart from that, there will also be additional Artificial Intelligence rules. This could be in the form of a Presidential Regulation or a Minister of Communication and Information Regulation.
“Another thing, we are also increasing the dissemination of anti-hoax, disinformation and misinformation. This is a priority program until this October,” said Nezar.
Another thing that needs to be done is to support infrastructure development and interoperability to create an electronic-based government system. This is done with cooperation between ministries known as SPBE.
The system is planned to be implemented before October. The government has also formed a task force to encourage the system to run.
“We have formed a Task Force, we are working with the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform to encourage, speed up, accelerate several important priorities to be carried out towards launching before this October,” explained Nezar.
