Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the most premium variant of the latest flagship trio which launched today, Thursday (18/1/2024). Judging from the body, this cellphone still has a design language similar to last year's Galaxy S23.
The camera placement and size are still similar, namely 6.8 inches. The difference can be seen in the body material which now uses titanium, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.
Apart from that, other improvements can be seen in the series of AI features that Samsung has embedded. The South Korean manufacturer even calls the Galaxy S24 trio 'Galaxy AI' devices.
AI Productivity Features
There are several AI features that support productivity on the Galaxy S24 series. One of them is 'Live Translate'. This feature allows real-time and two-way translation in text and voice formats.
Through this feature, users can make telephone calls with foreign interlocutors, without having to lose the context in communicating.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Series can directly translate the conversation of the person you are talking to via the split-screen display on the cellphone or what is called an 'Interpreter'.
The AI system will immediately provide a transcript of the interlocutor's chat which has been translated via split-screen. The model is something like a teleprompter, namely a transcript that has been translated. This function also does not require an internet connection or WiFi.
Another AI feature on the Galaxy S24 Series is 'Chat Assist'. Its function is to improve the tone of speech when sending messages to colleagues or creating content on social media.
Users can also translate text in email or chat directly into 13 languages via the 'Samsung Keyboard' integration.
For those who have high mobility, the 'Android Auto' feature can also be used to summarize messages entering your smartphone while traveling. Then, the AI system will also provide appropriate response suggestions.
Another productivity supporting feature is 'Note Assist' in Samsung Notes. Users can use it to create summaries, templates, and simplify important notes.
Workers who usually do transcripts, for example journalists or note takers, can also use 'Transcript Assist'. This feature combines AI with speech-to-text. HP can type, summarize and translate voice recordings.
Samsung claims the results remain accurate even if there are many people talking at one time.
To make the experience of searching for information easier, Samsung is collaborating with Google to present the 'Circle to Search' feature. While reading or trying out content, users can underline, highlight, or press anything on the Galaxy S24 Series screen.

AI Photography Features
In the photography sector, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series utilizes AI to improve image processing and editing. Users can edit photos, delete objects, recompose, and polish (remaster) photos that have been shot.
There is an 'Edit Suggestion' feature, where AI will provide suggestions for photo adjustments, so that the results are better. There is also a 'Generative Edit' feature that allows users to fill in the background of an image to rearrange its composition.
For example, when a user shoots a tilted image. AI will fill in the edges so that the image composition can be balanced. Every time the Galaxy S24 uses generative AI to enhance a photo, a watermark will appear on the image.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra has a new 'Quad Tele System' feature with a 5x optical zoom lens. It is indeed a decrease from the previous 10x, but Samung has increased the resolution to 50MP from the previous 10MP. For digital zoom, the Galaxy S24 Ultra's capabilities can be up to 100x.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is also claimed to be able to provide a more advanced night photography experience, even when zoomed. Samsung calls this feature 'Space Zoom', namely the ability to enlarge objects without breaking even in low light conditions.

This most premium model is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 'for Galaxy' frills. Samsung claims that this chip is able to support more efficient AI activities.
The gaming experience is also improved from hardware and software aspects. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is equipped with a vapor chamber system that is 1.9 times larger, so it can regulate the temperature of the device when playing heavy games for a long time.
The visual effect relies on a screen with a brightness level of 2,600 nits, so it can be relied on when testing the cellphone under direct sunlight. Samsung says the Corning Gorilla Armor on the Galaxy S24 Ultra screen has also been improved with reflection reduction of up to 75%.
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 6.8 inch screen which is similar to the previous generation. The main camera is 200MP (wide), which is accompanied by a secondary camera of 12MP (ultrawide), 50MP (telephoto) and 10MP (telephoto). The selfie camera is 12MP.
