Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Microsoft launches the latest version of Copilot. This artificial intelligence (AI) platform can now do various jobs that are usually done by employees in the field finance.
Copilot version finance can perform variance analysis, reconcile data in Excel, and speed up the billing process via outlook. This software can also pull information stored in SAP and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Charles Lamanna, VP at Microsoft, stated that every company consists of employees who have different skills. “We want every department to be supported and enriched by Copilot,” he said.
Microsoft now provides Copilot for general functions in Office applications. Copilot is also available for sales teams and customer service teams.
Feature finance will be available on Copilot in the near future. Microsoft has not yet announced the subscription price.
Lamanna revealed that the Japanese advertising agency Dentsu was one of the first companies to use Copilot for various financial work.
Dentsu's Finance Department provided feedback to Microsoft which was used to help develop the finance version of Copilot.
Cory Hrncirik, a Microsoft employee who works in the field finance stated that one of the things that takes up most of the finance team's time is comparing data pulled from different systems.
More than 2,000 people working on financial planning and analysis teams typically spend 1-2 hours reconciling financial data. With Copilot, the time spent on financial reconciliation is only 10 minutes to 20 minutes every week.
Microsoft says AI helps employees with time-consuming and routine tasks, so they have more time for other work.
Hrncirik even claims that accounting and finance workers who utilize the Copilot automation system can get routine work of closing the books completed more quickly.
“This is one of the things we offer to CFOs,” Lamanna said.
