Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Chaebols is a term used in South Korea to describe a conglomerate family that runs a giant-scale business. History records that chaebol has a huge influence on Korean society and politics, and even the global economy.
The Korea Times report said that previous generations of chaebol generally avoided the public spotlight. Most of them also started their careers in consulting firms or affiliates of their family-owned companies. Career in the field consulting considered ideal because there they can learn the necessary management skills.
However, more and more of the younger generation of chaebol are exposing their daily lives through social media, even choosing careers in the world of K-pop.
Moon Seo-yoon, right, the eldest daughter of Shinsegae President Chung Yoo-kyung, recently became the spotlight after uploading a photo with a number of trainees in a room that looked like a dance studio.
Moon Seo-yoon will reportedly soon debut as a K-Pop idol from The Black Label, an entertainment agency affiliated with YG Entertainment, which houses BLACKPINK and BIGBANG. Although Shinsegae and The Black Label refused to confirm the debut news.
Moon Seo-yoon's family owns a well-known department store chain throughout South Korea.

Ham Yon-ji, daughter of Ottogi President Ham Young-joon, is another chaebol scion who started her career as an entertainer. This 31 year old woman works as a musical performer and influencer, and regularly appears in various dramas and television shows.
