After TikTok Shop collaborated with Tokopedia from December 12 2023 to January 2024, Bromen recorded very high sales.
“Thank God, 1.5 months after opening, we experienced a very, very significant increase. January 2024, we experienced an increase of 150 times compared to when we first joined the TikTok Shop,” said Roni, his nickname, in a conversation with journalist some time ago.
Roni added that his party received extraordinary benefits from the merger of TIkTok Shop with Tokopedia. This collaboration also improves local brands.
“A 150-fold increase is actually more powerful because actionafter that collaboration brands local is highly prioritized, this affirmative action for MSMEs,” said Roni again.
Roni said that the TikTok Shop platform has so far been able to contribute 55-60% of the company's sales because it has the advantage of being easy to reach the market so that the level of awareness higher.
According to him, the TikTok Shop-Tokopedia collaboration and creating the Buy Local campaign are initiatives that have an impact on local MSMEs.
“So I really feel how friends at Tokopedia or TikTok try to really support me brands local people like us, we as MSMEs finally have more opportunities to move up in class through platforms like this,” he said.

“We hope that in the future more local brands will emerge and then hopefully they can become global brands,” said Roni.
Co-founder and CEO of Gently Indonesia, a skincare brand for babies, Nyoman Anjani after TikTok Shop collaborated with Tokopedia. “When the TikTok Shop closed, wow, (revenue) dropped significantly, maybe around 20-30%, finally we looked for ways to increase sales on other platforms,” said Nyoman.
“It's just that Tiktok is closed, other platforms can't catch up, Tiktok's affiliate system is really strong and its affiliate network,” added this alumnus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
After that, he continued, when TikTok Shop returned via Shop Tokopedia, the impact was extraordinary because sales in December 2023 immediately returned to normal. “So all the videos that previously had a yellow basket went up again, that's why the income immediately returned to normal, that's amazing,” he concluded.
He said that since the collaboration, several competing brands were not as aggressive as before on TikTok. Previously, foreign brands could live stream up to 4-10 accounts, but now there are none or less.
“The response has been positive because it is encouraging brands local, but somehow “Indeed, foreign brands now don't need to be aggressive, that's the assumption we see, but we don't know the actual facts,” explained Nyoman.
