Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Procurement of laptops in the government sector can now be obtained more cheaply. This is due to the digitalization system that President Joko Widodo's government continues to develop.
Deputy for Tourism and Creative Economy of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Odo RM Manuhutu, explained that digitalization could increase transparency in government circles. This will make the stored database more structured and can be accessed easily.
One thing that is being done is the practice of procuring laptops in a number of ministries. Odo explained that the prices offered are much more transparent and all parties can see and compare them.
“Procuring laptops can save 100%. So, the initial price could be IDR 15 million per laptop, then it could drop to IDR 5 million per laptop,” said Odo at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries' virtual press conference entitled “Performance Evaluation 2023 Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045” quoted Saturday (30/12/2023).
For your information, the government has an e-catalog online shopping application. The application was developed by the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP).
According to him, this is very useful. The e-catalog was created to support local MSMEs because they can include goods and services on the platform.
Buying local products has great benefits. One of them can open new job opportunities.
Another benefit is that it can make the government's spending process much more transparent and economical. All of this is also done using digitalization.
Under the regulations, the government is required to purchase 40 percent of goods/services from MSMEs. In fact, the target set this year is to absorb IDR 900-1,000 trillion.
“So the aim is to encourage the central government, regional governments and also state-owned companies to buy domestic products,” he said.
