Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy held a meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) regarding preparations for Eid al-Fitr and Eid at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (16/01/2024).
When asked about the possibility of changes to the collective leave date, Muhadjir answered that up to now there had been no change to the collective leave schedule.
“There aren't any at the moment,” Muhadjir told reporters.
As is known, the government has issued a collective leave schedule for 2024 for State Civil Apparatus (ASN). Contained in Presidential Decree Number 7 of 2024.
The leave schedule with ASN is as follows:
1. February 9 2024 (Friday) as a joint holiday for Chinese New Year 2575 Kongzili;
2. March 12 2024 (Tuesday) as a holiday for the 1946 Saka New Year Holy Day of Silence;
3. April 8, 9, 12 and 15 2024 (Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Monday) as holiday for Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah;
4. May 10 2024 (Friday) as holiday with the Ascension of Jesus Christ;
5. May 24 2024 (Friday) as holiday for Vesak Day;
6. June 18 2024 (Tuesday) as holiday for Idul Adha 1445 Hijriah; And
7. December 26 2024 (Thursday) as holiday together for Christmas.
Muhadjir further explained that the discussions held with President Jokowi included preparations for anticipating traffic jams ahead of the 2024 Eid al-Fitr homecoming flow. Such as the plan to build a rest area at kilometer 97 of the Jakarta – Merak toll road which will be used as a buffer area to anticipate traffic density.
Apart from that, there are also plans to widen the Anchor port in Situbondo and add a ferry route from Situbondo to Lombok.
“Those who want to go to Lombok later don't need to cross via Bali, so from Situbondo they can go straight to Lombok, that will also make crossing from Gilimanuk Ketapang or vice versa easier,” said Muhadjir.
