Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that the value of fictitious investments that occurred in the corruption case at PT Taspen (Persero) reached hundreds of billions of Rupiah. These allegations are still preliminary and could increase.
“There are hundreds of billions which are suspected to be fictitious,” said KPK spokesman Ali Fikri, at his office, Jakarta, Thursday (2/4/2024).
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) had questioned PT Taspen's Senior Vice President of Capital Market Investment and Money Market, Labuan Nababan, on Friday (26/4/2024). He was questioned as a witness in the alleged corruption case of fictitious investment at PT Taspen for the 2019 fiscal year.
In Labuan, investigators confirmed the placement and management of Taspen investment funds. The investment funds in question are worth IDR 1 trillion.
“Yes, yesterday we summoned one of the witnesses, we are investigating a transaction amounting to IDR 1 trillion,” said Ali Fikri.
Ali explained that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has so far not been able to conclude whether all the funds worth IDR 1 trillion are fictitious investments. He said that the initial suspicion that the Corruption Eradication Committee found was that the value of the fictitious investment in this case was hundreds of billions of Rupiah.
“But if during the journey it turns out that the Rp. 1 trillion was all fictitious, then we will definitely charge it there,” he said.
It is known that the Corruption Eradication Commission is currently investigating alleged fictitious investment activities carried out by PT Taspen in the 2019 fiscal year involving other companies. The Corruption Eradication Commission is still calculating state losses.
The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) has named a suspect, but has not announced it. There are 2 people who have been prevented, namely the Managing Director of PT Taspen Antonius NS Kosasih and Ekiawan Heri Primaryanto who is the Managing Director of PT Insight Investments Management.
The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has deactivated Antonius NS Kosasih from his position. BUMN Minister Erick Thohir said that his party would respect the legal process.
