Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki appreciated PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), which has committed to empowering many villages throughout Indonesia consistently, one of which is through the BRILiaN Village program.
“This program is a breakthrough in encouraging villages throughout Indonesia to be able to develop village potential, increase capabilities in the form of improvements soft skills And hard skills “through sustainable empowerment activities that can support economic growth in the village,” said Teten at Nugraha Karya Desa BRILiaN 2023 in Jakarta, quoted on Wednesday (17/01/2024).
He hopes that, through this program, BRI will be able to become a financial services institution that will have a good impact on village economic growth, especially moving local products throughout Indonesia. Banks are also expected to focus on facilitating financing to support MSME development prospects.
Teten said that MSMEs are not just businesses, but also the lifeblood of the economy and the heart of Indonesian entrepreneurship. MSMEs as drivers are projected to reach 83.3 million in 2034. This is an opportunity for the development of MSMEs to contribute to the economy.
The Nugraha Karya Desa BRILiaN 2023 was successfully implemented by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk on January 10 2024 at the BRILiaN Tower, Jakarta. This event is a concrete manifestation of BRI's commitment to appreciation for villages that are considered to be actively moving forward to encourage the people's economy. Apart from Teten, this event was also attended by Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo and Main Director of BRI Sunarso.
As is known, Nugraha Karya Desa BRILiaN focuses on village development through four aspects. First, BUMDesa is the engine of the village economy. Second, digitalization in the implementation of products and activities in villages. Third, sustainability namely resilience and continuity in building villages. Fourth, innovation to encourage villages to be creative.
This year is the third time the BRILiaN Village Nugraha Karya program has been implemented, since the first time in 2021. The BRILiaN Village program itself has entered its fourth year. BRILiaN Village is a village incubation program which aims to produce role models in village development. Until 2023, this program has been participated in by 3,178 villages who are actively taking initiatives and are committed to moving forward through the programs that have been planned.
The objects of BRILiaN Village empowerment itself include village officials (village heads), BUMDesa administrators, Village Consultative Body, village business actors, as well as activists for superior products in rural areas (Prukades).
Evening Puncak Nugraha Karya BRILian Village announced the champions who received prizes worth IDR 1 billion, 2nd place IDR 750 million, and 3rd place IDR 500 million. The 1st and 2nd runners-up each received a prize of IDR 300 million. Meanwhile, Green Village, Best Governance Village, Best Entrepreneurship Development, and Best Innovative and Digitalization Village each amount to IDR 200 million.
Not only that, BRI also gave special awards to Potential Villages in the western, central and eastern regions. Each village will receive appreciation worth IDR 100 million. In the Nugraha Karya Desa BRILiaN 2023 series, BRI also presented an activity entitled BRILiaN Village Talks.
