Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – BPJS Employment Finance Director Asep Rahmat Suwandha handed over death compensation to two heirs of BTPN Syariah employees who died as a result of a work accident amounting to IDR 391 million.
Asep said that BPJS Employment is fully committed to responding quickly and accurately to all claims submitted by BPJS Employment participants, even though they have only been participants for a month
“Today I visited and strengthened our relationship with Bank BTPN Syariah which is one of the BPJS Employment participants. We also accompanied this visit by symbolically handing over compensation to two heirs of BTPN Syariah employees who died due to an accident, of course I represent the extended BPJS family “Employment would like to express its condolences to the heirs,” explained Asep at the BTPN Jakarta Tower, Thursday (2/5).
Asep also added that the handover of the compensation provided was a manifestation of the state's presence in providing protection to all Indonesian workers. By becoming a BPJS Employment participant, workers whatever their profession will receive socio-economic protection when risks from their work occur.
“This is a form of the presence of the state providing certainty to Indonesian workers. Of course the compensation provided cannot replace the figure of a loved one or child, but hopefully the compensation provided will ease the burden on the families left behind,” he added.
He further said that social security protection for employment is an important element for the country to prevent workers from falling into extreme poverty. This can occur due to the risk of work accidents, death or old age experienced by workers.
Asep especially appreciated Bank BTPN Syariah's commitment to registering all its workers as BPJS Employment participants.
“We want to give special appreciation from BPJS Employment for compliance, especially from BTPN Syariah which has registered all its employees in the full social security program, 4 programs plus one attached program, namely job loss guarantee and also includes all the supply chains it has,” explained Asep .
Asep's visit to Bank BTPN Syariah was received directly by the Director of Bank BTPN Syariah Dwiyono B. Winantio. Dwiyono B. Winantio expressed his gratitude for the speed and accuracy of BPJS Employment in responding to the claims submitted. According to him, the services and facilities provided by BPJS Employment are very good.
“We express our appreciation to BPJS Employment for providing fast and accurate claims to the two heirs of our employees. We are always committed to protecting all our employees, one of which is by including them in BPJS Employment,” said Dwiyono B. Winantio.

On this occasion, Asep also introduced a book he wrote entitled “This is How BPJS Employment Works to Provide Benefits to Participants”. The book he wrote aims to educate and make it easier for the public to find information related to BPJS Employment.
The information presented in this book is written in simple language so that it makes it easier for readers to understand employment social security.
“Through this book, hopefully all workers who want to know information about the program and benefits of becoming BPJS Employment participants will find it easier. By knowing in depth, it is hoped that workers will be moved to register themselves as participants, workers have the same rights to be protected, they can work safely hard and optimally, he and his family are free from worry from all possible work risks,” concluded Asep.
