Then, what will happen to the BLACKPINK members after not renewing their individual contracts with YG Entertainment?
By not extending their individual contracts with YG Entertainment, all activities of the four members outside BLACKPINK will no longer be under the auspices of Yang Hyun Suk's agency.
Therefore, Jisoo; Jennie; Rose; and Lisa can freely sign contracts with other agencies for promotions or individual activities. In fact, they also have the right to establish an agency, as Jennie has done.
On December 24 2023, Jennie officially announced the launch of a new agency, ODD ATELIER or OA. The launch of OA is proof of rumors that the idol who was born on January 16 1996 will establish a new agency.
“Hello, this is Jennie. This year has been filled with many achievements and I am very grateful for all the love I have received,” wrote Jennie at the launch of the agency via an Instagram Story upload on her personal account (@jennierubyjane).
“I am very excited about whatever is to come, as I embark on a solo journey in 2024 with a company I founded called OA,” added Jennie.
In her announcement, Jennie hopes that fans and lovers of the South Korean entertainment industry can provide support for her agencies, OA and BLACKPINK.
“Please show a lot of love for my new beginning with OA, and of course, BLACKPINK. Thank you,” concluded Jennie.
Even though Jennie has her own agency and Jisoo, Rose and Lisa are not bound by individual contracts with YG Entertainment, they will remain active in the KPop world as BLACKPINK through an exclusive contract which was signed on December 7 2023.
In other words, The Biggest Girl Group in The World it has not disbanded and will continue its musical activities.
