Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Netherlands is one of the countries with the largest Indonesian diaspora in the world. Of course, Indonesian-related businesses have attractive potential for Indonesian diaspora entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. One of them is Takim Santosa.
He started a business as an importer of Indonesian products to the Netherlands called Nesia Food VOF.
“I am more focused on importing dry food ingredients from MSME and corporate suppliers in Indonesia. With many migrants from Indonesia living in the Netherlands, these products are sought after by them either for direct consumption or reprocessing,” said Takim, Saturday (25/ 5/2024).
Takim said that one of his biggest suppliers is a palm sugar producer, namely CV Hugo Innovation, based in Banyumas, Central Java. His meeting with CV Hugo Innovation was achieved thanks to the business matching program from BNI.
“Parne sugar is really needed in the Netherlands to be reprocessed into typical Indonesian menus in restaurants belonging to the diaspora. I met CV Hugo Innovation through a business matching program from BNI,” he said.
Takim hopes to continue working with BNI to meet quality MSME suppliers. Takim has also planned to apply for a BNI Diaspora Loan facility for warehouse purchases.
Meanwhile, Member of Commission VI DPR RI Adisatrya Suryo Sulisto said that Banyumas palm sugar has been exported to various countries.
“CV Hugo Innovation is a BNI debtor that empowers local Banyumas farmers and exports palm sugar products abroad. Through business matching activities from BNI, CV Hugo Innovation met with Nesia Food and succeeded in exporting two tonnes of palm sugar per month,” said Adisatrya.
BNI Amsterdam, he continued, also manages diaspora customers who have various restaurants ranging from Padang food to Indonesian fine dining. Palm sugar imported from Banyumas has become a raw material for dishes in these restaurants.
“Hopefully in the future BNI will be able to continue to encourage local MSMEs to be ready to compete in the global market and assist the entrepreneurial diaspora to become more successful abroad,” concluded Adisatrya.
